Compleat KiDZ

Compleat KiDZ is the largest multi-disciplinary pediatric rehabilitation treatment facility in North Carolina. Compleat Kidz offers pediatric rehabilitative services, including speech, occupational, physical and ABA (which is behavioral therapy for children on the Autism spectrum) therapies to children with special needs.

When we started, the company billed under 1000 hours weekly. Currently they bill over 18,000 hours weekly. Enough said.

Girls and Autism

One of the things we discovered was that girls are under-diagnosed with autism. The reason being that many of the signs are written off as just "girls being girls". We did an awareness campaign to not only educate parents, but therapists as well.

Partnerships

Minor League Sports Teams

In order to get the brand out to the local community, we created a grass-roots level campaign where we partnered with local minor league baseball teams. Before each game one of the kids from the clinic would throw out the first pitch. If the child was incapable, they walked out the day’s starting lineup to the umpire. The kids loved the program, the parents were overwhelmed by it (many brought to tears).

Recruiting

This is a challenging field to work in, so recruiting staff can be difficult. We kicked in with a marketing campaign to help recruit entry level staff as well as entice specialized positions (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) from places like the UK. Since the job is very difficult, we wanted to keep the work fun.
